  • Update

We are doing well. Spring is about passed, and we are getting temperatures in the 80's right now. It's beautiful--dry, not humid like the east. Kayli and I enjoyed a walk yesterday with the baby and puppy. It was gorgeous!

This morning I opened the door and was a little surprised at what I saw---the deer had been in our pots of vegetable plants and everything was destroyed except the lettuce--we had just picked it, so there wasn't much there. I was awake around 6:30 this morning, and heard something coughing out there. I saw the deer tracks this morning. This is the second time it's happened to us. The strawberry plants were just recovering and producing flowers again. *sigh* I'm sure there's a reason for it, but I would sure like fresh strawberries, peppers and tomatoes!

I have decided to get into soapmaking and see what will happen with it. I'd like to make some extra money if I could, so we'll see how this pans out. I tried a batch today, and so far so good!

Nehemiah is on a growth spurt right now. He is sleeping a lot as well as eating a lot. The little piglet ate a whole banana the other day AND drank an entire 8oz bottle!!! I'm going to weigh him tomorrow and see what he's up to now.

  • It's way past time for another update!

I thought I would update while I have a few minutes. I'm not sure who even reads this anymore, but I'll update anyway :)

I am no longer on Facebook as it took a lot of my time away from doing what I needed to do. I can manage my time a lot better if I keep up with my friends on email, snail mail, phone, etc. If you don't have my email and want it, let me know I can give it to you.

Nehemiah is growing so fast. He is 6 months old now and so big! He is 16 lbs, 27 inches, is starting to eat solids. He loves bananas, oatmeal, carrots, pretty much anything I give him. He's not so fond of pumpkin though, but he'll eat it. He is such a joy and blessing! He sleeps well at nights, most of the time. We got him an exersaucer yesterday and he is playing in it right now and absolutely loves it! I think it's great that he can have something to play with and doesn't get frustrated because all the toys end up on the floor!

Our most recent news is our move to AZ. We moved here in February and live in Tombstone currently. Billy works for his aunt who owns a store in Tombstone. We are living in a camper until the Lord provides otherwise. It's not bad, a bit small, but it's a roof over our heads! We live right next door to Billy's parents, which is fun so far. Nehemiah gets to go to Nana's house quite a bit to play since the camper is quickly getting too small for him. Once he starts crawling it really will be too small for him!

I spend my days (trying to) being a housewife and mommy. I have my struggles but the Lord is good, faithful and patient with me. I think I will be sewing this week, I have fabric for 3 dresses, so we'll see how much I get done with that.

I guess I will go and get dinner ready. I hope to update this blog more frequently than I have been. We don't have internet, but I have access to my in-laws internet, so I will be on every few days.

  • Introducing....

Nehemiah Courage was born Wed. Oct. 8th at 1:55 am. He weighed 7lb 14 oz and was 21 inches long. I started noticing contractions at 4:00am Tuesday morning and told Billy he could go to work, but to keep his phone on! About 2:30 I called him home and we went to the midwifes. We arrived there about 5pm (He got home an hour later and it's an hour drive to the midwife) to find out I was only 2cm dilated. That was disappointing after being in labor for 13 hours, so we went home to wait until the contractions got stronger and more frequent. We arrived back to the midwife about 11pm and I was 5cm dilated. At 1:55 he was born after 25 minutes of pushing. He scored perfectly on the apgar--was healthy pink and didn't even need help crying. He is a good baby, and we are doing fine. The Lord really gave me grace and endurance as nothing could have prepared me for the pain of labor, or that all 22 hrs of labor was going to be back labor which was quite painful for me. The car ride to Mollie's (midwife) was spent praying and quoting Scripture in order to take my mind away from the pain. He came through for me, and little Nehemiah is totally worth it! Pictures of the little guy are on facebook if you want to see them.
