Spring is about passed, and we are getting temperatures in the 80's right now. It's beautiful--dry, not humid like the east. Kayli and I enjoyed a walk yesterday with the baby and puppy. It was gorgeous!

This morning I opened the door and was a little surprised at what I saw---the deer had been in our pots of vegetable plants and everything was destroyed except the lettuce--we had just picked it, so there wasn't much there. I was awake around 6:30 this morning, and heard something coughing out there. I saw the deer tracks this morning. This is the second time it's happened to us. The strawberry plants were just recovering and producing flowers again. *sigh* I'm sure there's a reason for it, but I would sure like fresh strawberries, peppers and tomatoes!

I have decided to get into soapmaking and see what will happen with it. I'd like to make some extra money if I could, so we'll see how this pans out. I tried a batch today, and so far so good!

Nehemiah is on a growth spurt right now. He is sleeping a lot as well as eating a lot. The little piglet ate a whole banana the other day AND drank an entire 8oz bottle!!! I'm going to weigh him tomorrow and see what he's up to now.

It's way past time for another update!

I thought I would update while I have a few minutes. I'm not sure who even reads this anymore, but I'll update anyway :)

I am no longer on Facebook as it took a lot of my time away from doing what I needed to do. I can manage my time a lot better if I keep up with my friends on email, snail mail, phone, etc. If you don't have my email and want it, let me know I can give it to you.

Nehemiah is growing so fast. He is 6 months old now and so big! He is 16 lbs, 27 inches, is starting to eat solids. He loves bananas, oatmeal, carrots, pretty much anything I give him. He's not so fond of pumpkin though, but he'll eat it. He is such a joy and blessing! He sleeps well at nights, most of the time. We got him an exersaucer yesterday and he is playing in it right now and absolutely loves it! I think it's great that he can have something to play with and doesn't get frustrated because all the toys end up on the floor!

Our most recent news is our move to AZ. We moved here in February and live in Tombstone currently. Billy works for his aunt who owns a store in Tombstone. We are living in a camper until the Lord provides otherwise. It's not bad, a bit small, but it's a roof over our heads! We live right next door to Billy's parents, which is fun so far. Nehemiah gets to go to Nana's house quite a bit to play since the camper is quickly getting too small for him. Once he starts crawling it really will be too small for him!

I spend my days (trying to) being a housewife and mommy. I have my struggles but the Lord is good, faithful and patient with me. I think I will be sewing this week, I have fabric for 3 dresses, so we'll see how much I get done with that.

I guess I will go and get dinner ready. I hope to update this blog more frequently than I have been. We don't have internet, but I have access to my in-laws internet, so I will be on every few days.

One Month Old

I can't believe Nehemiah is a month old already! He is up to 9lbs or so, and growing fast. You can see pictures here

Introducing....

Nehemiah Courage
was born Wed. Oct. 8th at 1:55 am. He weighed 7lb 14 oz and was 21
inches long. I started noticing contractions at 4:00am Tuesday morning
and told Billy he could go to work, but to keep his phone on! About
2:30 I called him home and we went to the midwifes. We arrived there
about 5pm (He got home an hour later and it's an hour drive to the
midwife) to find out I was only 2cm dilated. That was disappointing
after being in labor for 13 hours, so we went home to wait until the
contractions got stronger and more frequent. We arrived back to the
midwife about 11pm and I was 5cm dilated. At 1:55 he was born after 25
minutes of pushing. He scored perfectly on the apgar--was healthy pink
and didn't even need help crying. He is a good baby, and we are doing
fine. The Lord really gave me grace and endurance as nothing could have
prepared me for the pain of labor, or that all 22 hrs of labor was
going to be back labor which was quite painful for me. The car ride to
Mollie's (midwife) was spent praying and quoting Scripture in order to
take my mind away from the pain. He came through for me, and little
Nehemiah is totally worth it! Pictures of the little guy are on facebook if you want to see them.

Guess I'll update....

Since I'm on the internet for one of the rare times, I thought I would update. Not much going on, so I'll just leave this and let y'all figure it out. Some of you already know, but not all of you...

Will be offline....

Hey y'all

Just wanted to let you know that in a few days the
internet will get disconnected, but thought I'd give y'all a heads up
so you know why I'm not posting anymore! Honestly, I won't miss being
online much at all....I used to like it, but it takes up too much of my
time, so I'll find other things to do instead.

For those who want to keep in contact with me, my address and phone number is in a protected post. If you aren't on the list, email me and I will give you the address.

I
will probably be on off and on...but rarely, since we'll have to take
the laptop out somewhere anytime we want/need to get online.

Hope everyone is doing well. Keep in touch!
~Billy and Naomi

Married!!!

Just thought I'd update and let everyone know that the wedding is over!!! We went to Lancaster for our honeymoon, and had a blast!! Now we are trying to settle in and all that. I will post some pictures when I have more time, but for now, you can go to Peter's site for a few.

All for now.
~Naomi

Tuesday, September 18, 2007

We had "Old Fashioned Day" at church on Sunday. Basically, the women wore aprons/bonnets and the men wore bibtops. It was interesting to say the least! We had dinner afterwards as well. Here are a few pictures:

L-R: Dad, Mom, Samuel, Me, Andrew

Dad, Samuel, Andrew

Mom, myself, and our friend, Joan

My pastor, his wife and baby

Anne, one of the ladies in the church

Andrew and I--the Goins Chapel Baptist Church orchestra!

Songleaders of the future! I was using homeschoolblogger, but I wasn't very happy with it, so I'll just come back here for now.

Not a lot is going on. I got to meet my sister in law a couple weeks ago for the first time, that was pretty fun! We get along well, which is a good thing!

I spent last week at Andrew's, cleaning his apartment, that was fun. He has a little dog that he got at the pound, she is so sweet! Her name is Tipsy, she's part chiwawa (yeah, I know that isn't how it's spelled, but that's how it's pronounced, so we'll go with that for now since I can't remember the spelling right off hand!) and jack russell. She LOVES attention, and loves watching TV when there is something interesting on.

In other news...Andrew turned my cell phone off, which is fine with me. I don't get reception at the new place anyway. He originally got it for me to use at college, and since I'm not there anymore, and the 2-year contract is up, he disconnected it. So, if you want to call me, you can call my house #. If you don't have that number, let me know, and I'll give it to you.

Not much else going on. Dad is taking classes at Tenn. Tech. for CAD and drafting. He seems to be enjoying it, and is doing well!

Peter is coming home October 1st, and he cannot wait! He is so tired of barrack life and can't wait to see his dog again.

That's about all the news around here! Hope everyone is doing well!

Peter's blog...again

I updated Peter's site again--he made something really neat in class, go check it out!

I'm still using my other blog, but thought I'd update this one so you could check out Peter's page and look at his accomplishment.
